We are currently looking for a Junior Software QA Engineer to assess software quality through automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches.
Responsibilities
As a Software QA Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts). Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards. More specifically your duties will be the following:
- Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results.
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Qualifications
- BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
- Hands-on experience with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving, debugging & troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in English, both oral and written
Nice to have
- Experience on automated testing tools like Cucumber, Webdriver, Selenium for UI and Postman or similar for REST services test.
- Knowledge of one scripting language like Javascript, Python
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
- Experience with performance and/or security testing
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
- Experience with Docker and/or containerization
- Knowledge on NoSQL and RDBMS Databases (such as Elastic, MongoDB, MySQL)
