i4energy Secures the Management of 77 MW at the New Keramidi Substation in Pieria with across®

Single line diagram, Keramidi Substation, Pieria

Implementation of an integrated monitoring and remote-control system for 85 photovoltaic plants, fully compliant with the strict requirements of the Greek Transmission System Operator (IPTO / ΑΔΜΗΕ).

s the penetration of RES continues to increase, the need for advanced monitoring and generation management solutions becomes increasingly critical.

i4energy continues to actively contribute to the digital transformation of energy management, undertaking the design and full commissioning of an advanced monitoring and remote-control system at the new Keramidi Substation in Pieria, Greece.

The project concerns the management of three Common Dedicated MV Networks (ΚΑΔ), integrating a total of 85 photovoltaic plants, with a combined installed capacity of 77 MW.

The Technological Superiority of across®

Leveraging the pioneering across® energy management platform, i4energy designed and implemented an innovative solution that fully complies the strict monitoring and control requirements of the System Operator (IPTO/ΑΔΜΗΕ), while safeguarding the long-term value and future utilisation of the investment.

The system architecture ensures optimal power generation monitoring and reliable grid operation through:

  • 1 Central Controller (Master Power Plant Controller – MPPC)
  • 3 Local Controllers (Slave Power Plant Controllers – SPPCs)
  • 85 Remote RTU units (across® Edge) installed at the photovoltaic parks

Customer Value Delivered

Zero Downtime: The system architecture incorporates full redundancy across all critical subsystems, ensuring maximum availability and uninterrupted operation.

ROI Maximisation: Thanks to the flexible architecture of across®, the infrastructure developed is fully scalable, enables future expansions, system adjustments and integration of additional parameters, maximizing the return on investment over time.

End-to-End Project Delivery: Within the framework of the project, i4energy provides a comprehensive package of services covering every stage of the investment:

  1. Engineering study and design of advanced systems
  2. Equipment supply and installation
  3. Configuration of the across® software to fully address the specific requirements of the project
  4. System integration and full commissioning within the existing infrastructure
  5. Lifecycle Support, including maintenance services (hardware & software) and specialised operator training

This project represents another significant milestone for i4energy, reaffirming its key role in delivering advanced digital solutions that shape the future of energy management.
